April 2, 2012. Yesterday I went out to show a few houses to a client of mine. We stopped in two houses in SE Portland that were in the mid-200's for price. This is a very hot price point for first time home buyers.  We were almost trampled at one by one agresive shopper. Nearly lost my shoes in the pile by the front door an the other.  OMG! What is going on. Buyers are eager to buy and there is not enough available inventory to meet the demand. If you are looking for a house to buy you need to interview and pick a Buyers Agent and work with one exlusively so you get the absolute best reprentation and dedication from that agent to find you a home.  It's a project and it's competitive.

April 1, 2012 Update on Portland Real Estate

The year 2012 will be remembered as the year real estate turned around. Economist may look back at charts and graphs and mark  the bottom of the recession at another time, but for the homeowner and home buyer now is the time.

The first quarter of 2012 saw a huge increase in buyer activity, offers being written and homes being sold. The inventory continues to shrink at an alarming rate, with more homes being sold than coming on the market. Homes priced right in desirable areas are getting multiple offers shortly after going on the market. We are actively seeking new listings to take advantage of this (maybe short term) renewed market momentum.
